The vines of Chateau Dauzac are planted in two varietals: 65% Cabernet sauvignon and 35% Merlot, the final blend changes according to the vintage and the other wines of the Château Dauzac.
Château Dauzac produces 5 Bordeaux red wines, the most renowned being the « Grand vin de Dauzac », the second wine « Labastide De Dauzac » has a similar profile yet is more accessible in its youth. Their third wine « Château Labarde », classified as Haut Médoc, is grown from 3 hectares planted outside the Margaux appellation. « Aurore de Dauzac », first produced in 2013, has a shorter elevage of 12 months and is a more fruit-driven wine. Finally, their latest wine, « Les D de Dauzac », of the Bordeaux AOC is a wine to drink in its youth. The vintages produced since 1995 of the first wine of Château Dauzac have been extremely successful and would benefit laying down for 15 years or more. Thanks to new investments, 2014 and 2015 (considered great years for Bordeaux wines) have marked a turning point as the Château has received excellent notes from international critics during the primeur period. Not surprisingly as the wine is explosively fruity and complete, dense and refined. This Fifth Growth of Margaux is of great quality, meriting one's interest and the prices are currently reasonable compared to other Châteaux.
